Our Grandmother may have told us to swallow flaxseed oil because of the health benefits. But did she tell you to use on your scalp for hair growth? Flaxseed oil is very rich in omega fatty acids which allows our hair to be long, shiny and thick. In addition, it provides our scalp and strands with our benefits to bring it to an optimally healthy condition.
The breakdown of Flaxseed Oil:: Flaxseed oil is extracted from the small golden seeds. The seeds are rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Based on the name these acids are proven to contribute to a healthier scalp overall. They nourish the hair strands and scalp with the nutrients needed for our hair follicles to promote hair growth as well as moisturizing our hair length. In addition, it reduces inflammation of the scalp thus reducing scalp issues that we may face.
But, how does it contribute to growth?
1 – Flaxseed oil is rich in protein – Remember that our hair is made up of 90% protein, specifically keratin. Keratin will aid in repairing your broken hair strands and follicles. Once they are repaired then they can flourish. You can coat your hair with flaxseed or adding it to your products to reap all the benefits of it.
2 - Flaxseed oil is rich in omega fatty acids – Omega fatty acids are rich in vitamins. These vitamins A, B, C and D will aid in providing moisture to your scalp or hair strands. In addition, it aids in sebum production. Once sebum is being produced it will be used to coat our hair strands in order to travel down the hair strands and nourish it.
3 - Flaxseed oil is anti-inflammatory – Our scalp may suffer from inflammation as a result of certain scalp issues such as hair loss, dandruff, eczema, and so much more. Apply flaxseed oil on a nightly basis and massaging it in will sooth the scalp. The oil will help to calm down the inflamed areas in order to bring it to normalcy. Once your scalp is a normal condition then it will thrive by increasing hair growth substantially.
